Queen City Cruise: Some simple rules
The main rule for the Queen City Cruise is simple: have fun, be fabulous. Flaunt it!
But to help everyone onboard follow the main rule, we offer these simple rules of the sea:
The primary rules:
- Must have a ticket to board. Even if you have a very charming smile, and even if you have a witty and entertaining story about why you don't have your ticket, it isn't going to get you onboard without that ticket.
- Must be at least 21.
- ID required.
And the important guidelines:
- Be fashionable, but not fashionably late. The boat leaves at noon.
- Do not throw anything (or anyone) overboard.
- Don't bring your own booze. BYOBs will be collected at the dock before departure.
- Drink responsibly. A cab ride home is always a good idea.
- No smoking on board. We've tried to accommodate smokers for the past few years with a small designated smoking area, but the Health Department now requires the boat to be completely smoke-free. Please refrain from smoking on the dock and on board.
Some good advice
Avoid that long wait in line for the first beverage of the cruise by snatching up early-bird scrip. No, that isn't what older gentlemen throw out onto the sidewalk for pigeons. It's the drink stubs that you can buy on the dock if you arrive before the start of the Queen City Cruise pre-boarding show. With early-bird scrip in hand, you can head right for the bars while others wait in the scrip lines.
During the voyage, scrip will be sold at tables on the boat's lower deck.
Ticket Refunds
We appreciate early ticket buyers, but understand that plans must sometimes be changed in the weeks between now and Cruise Day on August 9 so we will offer refunds again this year to those with legitimate reasons for the request. Email your refund request to us.These are the rules:
- No refunds on Cruise Day. (Except to standby ticket holders who are in the line and can't be boarded.) Please don't ask volunteers about it at the dock. If you're holding tickets for friends, make sure they get to Pier 55 in time for the 11:30 am boarding. If they don't make it, then they miss out on the party and you lose the cost of their tickets. Make sure they understand.
- Refund requests must be received by 7 pm on Friday, August 8 -- the evening before the Cruise. Please include a phone number in your request.
- A $5 service fee will be assessed for each refunded ticket after you've mailed the unused ticket back to us. (We will reverse $45 of your charge if you paid through our PayPal button or mail you a check if that doesn't work.)
