What is Tacky Tourist Clubs?

What would you like to know?
   Here, you will find

Tacky Tourist Clubs of America, Seattle Chapter produces flights of the fancy and guided tours to realms of the imagination.

Each year, hundreds of tourists (of the local, regional, and national varieties) enjoy wind, water, dancing, drinking and general frivolity aboard The Queen City Cruise at Seafair time. It was 1981 when the high-production, volunteer-created event first floated into the viewfinders of sometimes startled and often-delighted tourists. At the waterfront, at the Ballard Locks, and on Lake Union, the brightly adorned boat with its lavishly-costumed occupants (and more than a few barely-dressed occupants) often becomes a major attraction.

The Cruise and other Tacky Tourist events depend on volunteers. Proceeds from the parties are distributed to organizations that (for the most part) serve the Puget Sound region's gay/lesbian/queer communities.

Tacky Tourist Clubs also provides production assistance for The Bump -- the always-fabulous Halloween party once known as Things That Go Bump In the Night. The party, originated by Tacky Tourists, is now presented by Gay City.

Statement of purpose

Our motto

We are tourist-class passengers on the luxury liner of life, dedicated to the proposition that, without chemicals, polyester itself would not be possible. We seek to milk the Sacred Cow of Taste to create a Cheeselog of Love, making the world a gay place in which to live. Charity goes further at group rates.

Go around the world with us.
